Kamay Ni Hesus

It was 6 AM when I woke up, the sun was obviously shining, glaring at my face. It was quite warm for that time of day. While taking a sip of brewed coffee alone, something came into my mind. Why not visit Lucban, specifically the Kamay ni Hesus. Maybe the climate there is cooler than Metro Manila. So, without any second thoughts, I changed my clothes, grabbed my backpack and went downstairs for my rubber shoes. I called my husband, and told him about my plans for that day. First time and alone. Just consider it an adventure.

I took a bus going to Cubao and asked the conductor to drop me off to DLTB bus terminal. So, I arrived at the terminal, dropped by at 7 eleven to buy a bottle of water and Gatorade ( I never leave without it). Then went to DLTB and entered the bus heading for Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

The travel from Cubao to Sta, Cruz, Laguna took me 4 hours the traffic in Metro Manila was quite heavy at that time. Maybe next time I will leave as early as 4 O' clock in the morning to avoid the same occurences. By the way, the fare is Php 140.00.

Reaching Sta. Cruz, I stepped down from the bus to get to the jeep going to Lucban, Quezon. The weather was very very warm. I could feel the warmth of the wind blowing on my nape. It feels as if it'll burn me. But when we reached the mountain going to Cavinti, the warm breeze slowly cools off.
Along the way I'm enjoying the view of wild trees and plants along the road. Being a first timer, I was surprised at the Pandan Trees. First time, eh. They are quite prolific there.
Fare from Sta. Cruz to Lucban: Php 45.00

Then reaching the municipality of Lucban I caught my eyes on the very really old church. I asked the driver to stop at the church. Then, going there I saw a monument commemorating the heroes of Lucban in WWII.

Check if your forefathers are included
Upon entering the church, there was a sign that no shorts allowed. Unable to enter inside the church,
I just took some pictures and left.
The old Church of St. Louis that caught my eye.

Being a first timer, I asked the help of the really kind Lagunense for information on how to get to Kamay Ni Hesus. She told me to ride a tricycle and tell the driver to bring me there.

Upon reaching Kamay ni Hesus, I paid the driver Php 30.00.

Welcome to Kamay Ni Hesus

Seeing the place was kinda exhilirating. I was quite hungry at that time but decided to go and experience the adventure of climbing up the really hiiighh stairs and eat afterwards. I was taking the pace slow.

Reaching to top was sooo exhausting , but when you see the view, you'll forget that feeling and get relief from it all. Not bad for a first timer.

Almost there...aargh!

View at the top. Yeheey! Made it...

Well, try and experience it yourself!

Pancit Hahab? Yes, but I prefer to use fork

LILIW RESORT

Simple, untouched, peaceful, and cool environment is what I can say of Liliw Resort.
If you are sweaty and tired of all the hassles and bustles of the busy city life and want to retreat for awhile to calm your nerves, this is the place. Mostly for Nature Lovers. But if you are a party person, sorry this is a no no.
If you and your friend/s want to have a relaxing Day Off to a place where:

  • You can cool off your sun-scorched body with the cool streams of water.

Laiya, Batangas ( Balakbakan, Laiya, Aplaya, San Juan, Batangas)

Surrounded by hills, the once peaceful, less traveled, nature-rich countryside has now become a popular Summer destination.
After passing Barrio Ibabaw, you will see that the next Barrio is "lined" with beaches. Some high-end beaches while there are some specifically Barrio Balakbakan are the "low-end" beaches or we call it the "pang-masa". If you really want to go swimming with your family and friends on a budget, I should suggest that you go to Balakbakan. I usually go to Lucky 7 Beach Resort since that's where my husband's relatives live.
The beach's soil is not black but creamy, very light yellowy-white. Soil is composed of powdery sand and pebbles. They also have aircon rooms available. Their prices are also seasonal. Peak Season is from March to June. Their prices range from Php 5,500 to Php 8,500, overnight accomodation.. Depending on the number of persons in a group. They also have Ordinary houses which is much cheaper and more comfortable for a large group. The biggest ordinary accomodation costs only Php 5,500 overnight. Beware though on months of May and June. It's Jellyfish season. Tiny and small jellyfishes visits the seashore usually in the afternoon, and the water turns to brown and itchy but only in the afternoon.
Besides the accomodation, they also offer snorkeling, touring at the corals and the so-called "Mesang Bato".
In general, Laiya is also a beautiful Summer destination and less expensive than going to Boracay. the only demise is that since people are coming in, the birds are moving out.
